If you were Tally, would you ask the Warden to make you pretty?
Absolutely! I would do it knowing that if I try the medicine to see if it works, I can help the pretties have their own minds and think freely.

Confessions #51
Tally has finally come clean. Do you think she will regret it? Do you think David will change his mind about her?
You should never regret doing something that is the right thing to do. David will learn to forgive her and forget about it.

Hipocratic Oath #50
Should Maddy have forced Shay the take the "cure?" Why or why not?
You can never force anyone to do something they don't want to do. Maddy was right for letting Shay decide.

Night Alone # 49
If you were Shay, would you get the cure? Why or why not?
Of course I would! If Maddy says she is 99% sure it works and will save me from something that could be fatal, I would do it! Shay should look in to her and remember who she was, and realize she could die without this cure.

Get Away #48
Respond to the following quote from the chapter...what does it mean to you?
"Tally thought of the lesions on Shay's brain, the tiny cancers or wounds or whatever they are that she didn't even know she had. They were in there somewhere, changing her friend's thoughts, warping her feelings, gnawing at the roots of who she was."
This quote is what the whole operation is about. I don't understand why Dr. Cable can't just remove lesions and let them be who they are and look good at the same time.

Rescue #47
Give a chronological list of important events in the chapter. What's the kicker at the end of this chapter?
Tally and David go to Special Circumstances and knock out Dr. Cable in order to save the captured Smokies. Shay goes with them, but all of a sudden thinks that she was so immature when she was ugly and is completely brain-washed, just like all other Pretties are. And the kicker? Maddy announces Az was killed by Dr. Cable.

Inside #46
Is this quote a play on words, or does it have a deeper meaning to the story? "Radiology. Neurology. Magnetic Imaging," she read sofly. "Operation Theatre Two."
I think it's a deeper meaning. It's all the rooms used in the process of becoming pretty. The rooms it took years for David's parents to learn about.
What "labels do Tally and David find in the Special Circumstances building? Give a BRIEF description of what you think each means.
Radiology: X-rays of the body or other radiation.
Neurology: Medical science dealing with the nervous system.
Magnetic Imaging: A painless procedure using a magnet and radio waves to make images of the body.
Operation Theatre Two: One of the operation rooms.
Long- Term Detention: A long, long detention, better described as jail.
Describe Shay's appearance at the end of the chapter using textual evidence.
"It was Shay. She was Pretty."
"She was tall and elegant, every feature. Her eyes, deep and soulful, flecked with copper and gold..."
